Stephen Pye Joins as Global Head of Talent Acquisition

We’re really excited to be welcoming Stephen Pye to the Roc Search team. Steven has joined us as our Global Head of Talent Acquisition and with his wealth of experience we’re certain he’ll be exactly who we need to enable us to reach our growth goals as a business. We sat down with Stephen to discuss his career to date:

Give us your career background...

I started out in Rec2Rec 10 years ago before moving into talent acquisition at one of my clients. Spent 4 years with Staffgroup, an international recruitment business, grew the business from 60-150 people and staffed 3 new offices in the process. Then gained exposure in a corporate real estate business building their talent acquisition function from scratch, after which I spent 18 months travelling the globe.

Why did you join Roc?

I’ve followed the success of Roc Search for a number of years and have always admired the business. I wanted to join an ambitious values driven business where I could make a positive impact. The week I got back to the UK from travelling I contacted Conor to ask for a job and 2 weeks later I started!

Explain your role?

I head up all talent acquisition globally, driving the growth of the business to achieve our headcount goals of 250 employees in 2020. I’m also heavily involved in the talent management of the business to increase engagement and retention.

What has been your biggest career achievement?

Growing Staffgroup by 200% in 3 years, enabling the owners to exit the business early also being awarded the best back office team in the recruitment industry in 2015.

If you could travel anywhere, where?

I’m fortunate enough to have extensively travelled over 60 countries but the Galapagos, In Ecuador, is highest on my list.

If you could be any fictional character, who?

What did you spend your first/first big pay cheque on?

A holiday to Sri Lanka

Who would play you in a film about your life?

Mick Hucknell from Simply Red
